Jimmy Snyder was born in Fairfax, Virginia. He is the youngest of
three children and the only boy.
Jimmy has enjoyed drawing ever since he was a little boy. It all
started one day when he saw an advertisement in the paper regarding drawing.
The ad said that if you like to draw, send away for free information.
He did. ...and he hasn't stopped drawing since!
Jimmy, like many up and coming artists, had a day job. However, he
never lost touch with his artistic side. He would draw, almost every
day, after work.
One day, while drawing, he met someone that encouraged him to perfect his artistic talents. This
person inspired Jimmy to make his
pictures look real. They also told Jimmy to believe in God and to
ask God for guidance. Jimmy has faithfully done this ever since
that day. You will see some of this spiritual ness in his paintings.
Obviously, Jimmy loves to paint! He has displayed some of his
paintings at different galleries around the country. However,
one of the greatest joys Jimmy gets from his talents is seeing the
expressions on people's faces when they first see his paintings. That puts a
lot of joy in his heart and inspires him to even greater heights.
Jimmy does most of his paintings with
pastels on suede matt board. He also uses colored pencils on bristle board
and he does some oil paintings on canvas .
